Christmas PArtyyyy

Hi everyone last week was an eventful week. Sahi tha(Jebi missing you).....On Christmas eve was just reading and finishing my leftover chicken curry(to the point that it became a nuisance, nonetheless was tasty...lol). On Christmas we all were supposed have dinner together, at 1 pm, and ali had cautioned if you are not at time they will come to your room. Dont worry was on time(hehehe)....and dont wonder how. When I came down it was great everyone was dressed in their best dress, ali with a papa cap, mahmoud in a traditional islamic dress, ibrahim in a wonerful suit. I was dressed crap(actually tabhi hi utha tha). My warden was dressed the best. He had a tie with santaclaus and a reindeer. If you press the reindeers nose it sang Jingle Bells. Hehehehe. He and his jokes are really marvellous. We were being cooked traditional British dinner by Mark(my warden) and his wife Sheila.
Wondering why an afternoon lunch is called a dinner.Thats too british to understand to. It seems on christmas mum prepares food in the morning, and for the whole day tries to relax, but the kids are so looking forward for their food that they have their dinner in the afternoon itself.Hehehe...Dont complain thats how I was explained. Then we sat on this table and we had crackers in the front of the table. Its a tradition on the table to cross your hands and and pull each others cracker and burst. Inside we had a paper crown and some very boring english jokes. Seriously I dont find english humour amazing. The food was an experience, I had turkey and everything but was seriously struggling with the fork and knife.Hehehe.
Then we all housemates cleared the room together. It was good to see everyone work together. Then Ali and I again had the long talks and we went for the INDIAN christmas dinner at tushar and rajeshs place. It was the best. After a long time met a lot of people. Jebin and everyone missed you yaar. How we used to go to have christmas dinner at jebins place. Missing you guys.
But the weird thing is on christmas no one leaves home. Everything is closed. No shops nothing. Its a private private gathering everywhere. Unlike in India where people show our enthusiasm for our festival so loudly. And I like the Indian way except for the loud speakers blaring not-for-the moment-songs.Hehehehehe.
The nest day is called the boxing day here. Boxing day also is an excuse to be with your family or friends and cook dinner and stuff. It actually originated as a day when tradesmen used to trade boxes of money for their services the entire year. Also on boxing day all the slaves were given a holiday. In modern terms it means shopping shopping and only shopping. Since all shops put up huge discounts. We had also gone shopping and planned to watch ghajini. But the plan flopped as it did not release in the UK. We were disappointed :(. The rest of the day we shopped and had fun had a friends place.hehehe.
Heyyyy I got a cycle....and that to for free.A senior gave it to me. Now its good I can travel fast. The thing is walking is the only solution in bristol but takes a lot of time and you seriously cannot afford the public services. But if you are working full time. Its nothing. I mean what I have noticed is a very little of the people here are very rich. I think theres no poverty line. I maybe wrong. Another thing that I noticed is that Brits spend a lot on lifestyle(as they arecelebrity freaks) and alcohol. Though Brit people are really good. As in to strike a conversation you need to speak aboutthe weather. They are obsessed with Indian and chinese food. And their humour is undecipherable(hehehe). Anyways I need to go to the kitchen. Cooking is one boring job but still :(....hehehe
