Nostalgic
What does one need life a little sunshine and happiness. And they come from the people around you and yourself. Yesterday had a real blast with one of my oldest friends kartik, and just when I thought life has changed he made things right. But the irony is I said made things right.....huh....dats such a wrong thing to do. Was scanning thru my testimonials and saw how people believed in me and how little i believe on myself....Maybe it time to change for the people around me.....Not for good or bad but to live a life which is wonderful and made wonderful by the people around me....Love you guys and the distances dont matter u ll be there forever and always here.

Christmas PArtyyyy
Hi everyone last week was an eventful week. Sahi tha(Jebi missing you).....On Christmas eve was just reading and finishing my leftover chicken curry(to the point that it became a nuisance, nonetheless was tasty...lol). On Christmas we all were supposed have dinner together, at 1 pm, and ali had cautioned if you are not at time they will come to your room. Dont worry was on time(hehehe)....and dont wonder how. When I came down it was great everyone was dressed in their best dress, ali with a papa cap, mahmoud in a traditional islamic dress, ibrahim in a wonerful suit. I was dressed crap(actually tabhi hi utha tha). My warden was dressed the best. He had a tie with santaclaus and a reindeer. If you press the reindeers nose it sang Jingle Bells. Hehehehe. He and his jokes are really marvellous. We were being cooked traditional British dinner by Mark(my warden) and his wife Sheila.
Wondering why an afternoon lunch is called a dinner.Thats too british to understand to. It seems on christmas mum prepares food in the morning, and for the whole day tries to relax, but the kids are so looking forward for their food that they have their dinner in the afternoon itself.Hehehe...Dont complain thats how I was explained. Then we sat on this table and we had crackers in the front of the table. Its a tradition on the table to cross your hands and and pull each others cracker and burst. Inside we had a paper crown and some very boring english jokes. Seriously I dont find english humour amazing. The food was an experience, I had turkey and everything but was seriously struggling with the fork and knife.Hehehe.
Then we all housemates cleared the room together. It was good to see everyone work together. Then Ali and I again had the long talks and we went for the INDIAN christmas dinner at tushar and rajeshs place. It was the best. After a long time met a lot of people. Jebin and everyone missed you yaar. How we used to go to have christmas dinner at jebins place. Missing you guys.
But the weird thing is on christmas no one leaves home. Everything is closed. No shops nothing. Its a private private gathering everywhere. Unlike in India where people show our enthusiasm for our festival so loudly. And I like the Indian way except for the loud speakers blaring not-for-the moment-songs.Hehehehehe.
The nest day is called the boxing day here. Boxing day also is an excuse to be with your family or friends and cook dinner and stuff. It actually originated as a day when tradesmen used to trade boxes of money for their services the entire year. Also on boxing day all the slaves were given a holiday. In modern terms it means shopping shopping and only shopping. Since all shops put up huge discounts. We had also gone shopping and planned to watch ghajini. But the plan flopped as it did not release in the UK. We were disappointed :(. The rest of the day we shopped and had fun had a friends place.hehehe.
Heyyyy I got a cycle....and that to for free.A senior gave it to me. Now its good I can travel fast. The thing is walking is the only solution in bristol but takes a lot of time and you seriously cannot afford the public services. But if you are working full time. Its nothing. I mean what I have noticed is a very little of the people here are very rich. I think theres no poverty line. I maybe wrong. Another thing that I noticed is that Brits spend a lot on lifestyle(as they arecelebrity freaks) and alcohol. Though Brit people are really good. As in to strike a conversation you need to speak aboutthe weather. They are obsessed with Indian and chinese food. And their humour is undecipherable(hehehe). Anyways I need to go to the kitchen. Cooking is one boring job but still :(....hehehe

Chicken Curry
Had been thinking of kick starting this post for long time. The impetus finally given by shweta. All right here goes.Been in Bristol for like 2 months now. Must say life has gone topsy turvy in the Queen's land. For instance have been wakin up at 5 for my job at a supermarket every saturday and sunday. I know many of them wont believe that. All credit goes to Chiu(Vinaya) who pesters me every saturday and sunday. Then the daunting task of stacking the newspapers on saturday. GOD firangs do read a lottt...But all they want is celebrities and weather ...
Today morning was like any other one.....snore snore....nikhil do the papers...awryt mate...snore snore...hop on the till...cheers mate....snore snore......take a break....snore snore....back to the TILL..... Krystal in every 15 mins...."nikhil u all right"....snore snore.....a drunken bastard askin at 11 am...."do u ve whipped condoms"....buzzed off by the security....
2pm bliss......Aaj mood aagaya chicken banau....never did that.....
Asked help from my house mate Ali from Pakistan. Inshallah hamari urdu kamayat dayegi aap logo pe.....We had a blast today.I started off at 7 pm to you know clean and chop the chicken.Listening to hindi songs TZP,Aatif,Ali Azmat.....and my favourite Two steps behind(Luv u jaan)....We were talking about movies and polictics. Its hard to believe that we have so much enemity between our countries. Obviously when it comes to India I get all agressive and when it comes to Pakistan he gets all you know. But do you know the sole wish of Ali bhai-jaan is to tour Mumabi atleast once. I think its because of its charisma. Ali's Ammi watches Kyuki....hhehehe and we cribb about it.....
The difference lies not in our approach to life but to our approach to history....We will never leave our history, which was actually just word of mouth. For that matter I would not too. Even now I feel down with Pakistan because of it proxy war. But after meeting people like Ali you tend to for once believe that we are one. Ummmmmmm I dont know in a very confused state of mind.
Anyways the chicken was marvellous (thanx to Ali bhai) and it took me 3 hours to cook it and must say it was worth the effort. I am on my bed now and would probably go to bed or watch jeff dunham . Until then Merry christmas my friends and will see you soon.
